Breaking News: Active shooter situation at Ohio State University, at least 7 people injured rushed to hospital



  • An active shooter situation has been reported at OSU’s Columbus campus
  • Gunshots rang out inside Watts Hall before 10am 
  • At least seven people have been transported to the hospital 
  • SWAT teams are now searching through a nearby parking garage for the shooter or shooters  

An active shooter has been reported at Ohio State University’s Columbus campus.

Just before 10am, the university issued a warning telling students to shelter in place.

The first reports of gunshots came from Watts Hall near 19th and College. According to the school’s website, the building is home to the Materials Science and Engineering program.

Since then though, the focus of law enforcement presence on the campus is on a nearby parking garage, where the shooter or shooters are believed to be hiding.

So far, at least seven people have been transported to the hospital. Two of those patients are in stable condition. The rest of the conditions have not been released.
