Calling all thrillseekers! 1,000ft high glass slide to be built on the side of California’s tallest skyscraper
The owner of the U.S. Bank Tower has revealed it will be opening a terrifying new attraction for thrillseekers – a fully enclosed glass slide that runs along the exterior of the building.
For $8, adrenaline junkies will be able to travel use it to travel from the 70th to the 69th floor of the imposing tower block while 1,000ft above downtown Los Angeles.
Named the Skyslide, the chute will be made of see-through glass four inches thick and take riders on a hair-raising 36ft-long journey around the edge of the building. Named Skyspace, the deck will give unprecedented views across the San Gabriel Mountains to Catalina Island and forms part of a wider renovation of the building.
Bank Tower, one of the city’s most recognisable monuments, is currently undergoing a $50million renovation that includes a two-floor observation deck, Curbed Los Angeles reports. Tickets for the slide go on sale on March 18.
