A man channeled his inner Mike Tyson this week, chomping off part of a cop’s ear during a scuffle on an Ohio highway, according to a report.
Cornelius Carey Jr., 44, was walking along a Lorain County Highway around 6:45 a.m. Thursday when a woman called police, fearing he’d get hit by a car, Cleveland.com reported.
State Highway Patrol trooper Lance Deshuk found Carey about a half hour later.
He asked Carey for his ID, but when Carey dug in his jacket pocket instead of allowing the officer to look for it, the cop tried to stop him, dashcam video shows.
Then Carey struck Deshuk in the face, knocking him to the ground and starting a scuffle that ensued off camera.
At some point during the tussle, Carey bit off a piece of the officer’s ear, according to the report.
The trooper was hospitalized and awaiting immediate surgery, according to court records obtained by the outlet. He is recovering at home as of Fridaymorning, according to The Chronicle-Telegram.
