ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Two people died in a rural Alaska village when their snowmobile struck a moose.
Alaska State Troopers say the weekend crash occurred in Aniak, a village of 500 about 317 miles west of Anchorage.
Troopers took a call on the deaths at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The snowmobile struck the animal and the man and the boy were thrown off the machine. They were declared dead at the scene.
The moose was found dead nearby.
Troopers say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
