Map shows people in every corner of the world are listening to streams of The Beatles

beatlesAt midnight in time zones across the world, streams of The Beatles music went live on sites including Spotify and Apple Music.

Within an hour of launch, #thebeatles and #beatlesonspotify hashtags began trending on Twitter, and at the time of writing there have been more than 90,000 tweets posted in the UK alone.

Although official streaming figures are yet to be announced – and Google and Spotify said they likely won’t be released until next week – the official The Beatles site features a globe that ‘glows yellow’ in the regions where people are streaming right now.

This reveals that the whole world is swathed in a yellow hue – apart from at the poles.
