The son of a Pennsylvania politician punched his mom in the face, knocking her to the floor of her campaign headquarters — then repeatedly kicked her while she was down, it was reported Saturday.

C. Kim Bracey, the mayor of York, a city in the southern part of the state, was attacked last weekend by her 30-year-old son Brandon Anderson, the York Dispatch said, quoting court documents.

Bracey is running for a third term as mayor.

After his knock-down punch, Anderson allegedly kicked her in the back, head and face.

“Anderson then picked up a wooden flag pole and attempted to hit Bracey with it but was stopped [by] a bystander,’’ said Officer Frank Clark.

The mayor issued a statement saying, “Like thousands of families, our family is confronting the fact that my adult son is battling an opioid addiction. No family is immune from this epidemic.’’

After a week in custody, Anderson, who was arrested at the scene, was released on $7,500 bail. He was charged with assault and harassment.
