Bronx man blames his girlfriend for self-inflicted gunshot wound

A Bronx man shot himself in the stomach Saturday afternoon and tried to blame the wound on his girlfriend, officials said.

Cops rushed to an apartment building on Nelson Ave. by W. 172nd St. in Highbridge around 3:30 p.m., authorities said.

They found the injured 34-year-old man inside an apartment there, police said.

EMS brought the man to Lincoln Medical Center, according to authorities. His injuries were not life-threatening, cops said.

Police originally said they were searching for a blonde woman in her thirties. They later determined that he fired the bullet himself.
