Cynthia Nixon says she would ‘absolutely’ legalize marijuana if elected governor

ALBANY – Actress Cynthia Nixon says she “absolutely” would legalize and tax marijuana if she is elected governor.

“Let’s capture some of that revenue,” Nixon said on an episode of the “Wendy Williams Show” that aired on Wednesday.

Nixon also said that given the recent rash of shootings nationally, New York missed out on an opportunity in the recently enacted state budget to enact new gun control measures.

She called it a “real watershed moment.”

Nixon, best known for playing Miranda Hobbes on “Sex and the City,” said she and her character are a lot alike.

“She’s a hard worker like me,” Nixon said of her character. “She’s a total career person like me. But quite a bit more dressed up and upscale.”
