A Virginia woman who allegedly killed her 6-year-old daughter with a shotgun blast reportedly told police that she was trying to save the small child from aliens.
Darla Elizabeth Hise, 27, was in a a psychiatric hospital when she told detectives that “her daughter and son were in danger from aliens and she thought she was going to save her daughter by sending her to heaven,” according to The Roanoke Times.
Hise also said she had “aliens in her body and wanted them removed from her stomach,” the paper said.
The new information came to light in a motion filed recently in a Virginia court.
Hise has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, two counts of use of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, and having a firearm while in possession of the drugs.
Hise’s lawyer argued that although she signed away her Miranda rights, she did not understand her actions because of drugs and mental disabilities.
