News: Would you pay $50 to watch a movie at home? Apple planning ‘premium’ iTunes rental service for films still in theaters

Apple is hoping to do a deal with Hollywood studies to allow movies to come to its iTunes service earlier than ever before.

21st Century Fox, Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures have all confirmed over the past week that they are looking to offer high-priced, home-video rentals of new movies shortly after they open in theaters, according to Bloomberg.

It is believed the movies could cost between $25 and $50 – and would only be available for a day after buying.
