Woman allegedly shot boyfriend as he slept, dismembered him with a machete

BAYTOWN, Texas — Police in Louisiana have arrested a Texas woman accused of shooting and dismembering her boyfriend, and dumping parts of his body in southeast Texas.

Police say 30-year-old Cierra Sutton was jailed without bond following her Thursday arrest in Jefferson Parish, near New Orleans.

Jail records don’t list an attorney for Sutton, who lives in Baytown, just east of Houston and about 85 miles from the Texas-Louisiana border.

Investigators allege Sutton fatally shot 32-year-old Steven Coleman as he slept following an argument, and that she dismembered his body with a machete at a Baytown apartment.

Investigators say a torso was found at a Baytown landfill on Aug. 22, four days after Sutton reported Coleman missing. Coleman was last seen on Aug. 16.

Police say formal identification of Coleman’s body awaits examination of the body parts.

Parents forced boy to eat carrots until his skin turned orange

Police arrested the adoptive parents of a 6-year-old boy after a witness claimed he was locked in a basement with no lights or bathroom facilities each night, and fed a diet largely based on carrots. Clarissa Anne Tobiasson, 27, and Brett Parker Tobiasson, 31, are now facing felony child abuse charges, Fox 8 reported.

A witness to the alleged abuse said they “noticed the child had an ‘orangey’ tint to his skin,” a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said, according to Fox 8. The witness claimed to have brought a pizza to the home for dinner, only for the boy to allegedly be told by Clarissa that he could not eat any unless he finished his carrots within a 15-minute time limit. The boy did not finish in time and was denied pizza, according to the press release.

“He would be required to eat carrots before every meal and if he did not finish them with a certain time limit he would not be allowed to eat the rest of the meal,” the press release said, of the unidentified boy. “In another instance he was disciplined for eating samples at a local store when he knew he was supposed to eat carrots before anything else.”

According to the Dermatology Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, eating foods high in beta-carotene can cause a yellowish discoloration of the skin, which is called carotenemia. It’s typically noticed in a person’s palms or soles, and usually occurs in children.

The couple, who also adopted the boy’s 2-year-old brother and have a 2-month-old biological daughter, were investigated by the Utah Division of Child and Family Services and arrested earlier this month. They each face one count of child abuse as a second-degree felony, with bail set at $10,000, Fox 8 reported.

The boy is now in the care of a grandmother, while the other two children are in the custody of the Division of Child and Family Services.

Gang members busted for crimes they rapped about

Nine members of Brownsville’s Loot Gang – who sang and danced about their violent crimes on social media and used Facebook messenger to plan their heists – were charged Tuesday with crimes ranging from conspiracy to commit murder to weapons possession, authorities said.

The vicious but hare-brained Brooklyn criminals ages 15 to 25 were responsible for seven shootings, including one Aug. 12 in Bushwick where an innocent college student – Terrell Henry, 23 – was hunted down and killed for daring to walk along a street where rival gang members were known to gather, officials said.

Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said the gang members also were responsible for a series of “senseless shootings in certain pockets of Brooklyn” between November 2015 and August 2016 in which 14 people were injured or killed.

Gonzalez said the gang members were all pals who lived in the Ocean Hill Houses in the 73rd Precinct.

The “Loot Gang” targeted mainly rival gangs, including True Bosses Only.

At least one shooting, Nov. 27, 2015, was in retaliation for the gun death of “Loot Gang” buddy Armani “Rocky” Hankins in Fort Green a month earlier.

The Loot Gang then released a rap music video called “Rockyworld” on YouTube about the retaliation.

The video which shows a bunch of young men in hoodies jumping around and using their fingers as guns, is still up on the social media channel has gotten almost a half a million views.

Perv busted for breaking into women’s homes, trying on lingerie

A sex offender suspected of burglarizing multiple women while completely nude was arrested Tuesday, according to reports.

Curtis Sell, 53, broke into the first woman’s apartment in Lakewood, Washington, the morning of Aug. 2, according to authorities. She awoke to find him leaning over her bed wearing nothing but a condom and her headband around his waist, the News Tribune reported. The woman was able to push Sell out of her apartment before calling police.

Another sleeping woman in the same apartment complex later woke up to find the pervert half inside her bedroom removing a window fan.

The woman’s terrified yell seemed to startle Sell, who exited out the window and ran away, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

A third unsuspecting woman told police she came home around noon and found Sell in a closet wearing her bra while holding a pair of her underwear and a vibrator.

Sell had allegedly drunk a beverage he took from her refrigerator, opened a bottle of nail polish and cut his hair.

After the woman repeatedly told him to get out, Sell calmly left her home completely naked, wearing only black and white tennis shoes, KOMO reported.

During their investigation, police discovered a small camp near the apartment complex where they found Sell’s ID and cellphone with pictures of him wearing women’s lingerie.

After receiving an anonymous tip, police were able to track down Sell hiding in an attic at an undisclosed location.

“[Sell] was taken into custody (around 1 a.m.) without incident on his outstanding felony warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender,” according to police. “Sell has also been charged with 3 counts of Residential Burglary.”

Sell was convicted in 1997 of second-degree child rape for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in his trailer. He also has three convictions for failing to register as a sex offender, the News Tribune reported.

“In the past, he’s also used drugs on his victims and he’s been convicted multiple times, so this is somebody who obviously can’t control himself and we believe is a danger,” Pierce County Detective Ed Troyer told KCPQ.

Sell will be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

Woman drugged boy’s slushie before sexual assault

A Wisconsin woman allegedly drugged a child’s slushie and then forced him to perform sex acts.

Tara Gotovnik, 35, was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and delivery of a controlled substance, news station KITI reported.

Gotovnik is accused of putting sleeping pills into a 10-year-old’s slushie on Aug. 7 at her Greendale home, causing the boy to have double vision and slurred speech.

Police said that the 35-year-old then took off her clothes and told the boy to perform a sex act on her. She also reportedly used sex toys on the child.

Gotovnik reportedly told the boy after the encounter that they could “go online and make money for doing it,” according to authorities.

The boy’s father contacted police after his son said he had been drugged and that he didn’t want to go back to the home.

Investigators said that the 10-year-old’s account matched his father’s report, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Gotovnik confessed to giving the boy Ambien on two separate occasions, but denied sexually assaulting him. She was taken into custody at Milwaukee County Jail.

“I don’t remember anything from that night,” she reportedly told police.

A woman planned for at least a month to poison her grandmother before she finally poured antifreeze in the woman’s juice and then gave it to her drink, New Jersey police said.

Elise Conroy was arrested Saturday and faces attempted murder charges for allegedly trying to poison her grandmother. Police said the 84-year-old grandmother drank the tainted juice and suspected something was wrong. MARS, Pa. — Police say a dentist in Pennsylvania tried to work on patients while drunk, and after his staff called 911 he told responding officers he’d had an entire bottle of vodka.

The Butler Eagle reports Gregory Bellotti is charged with public drunkenness and reckless endangerment.

Police say his staff at Refresh Dental Management in Mars called authorities on March 23 to report someone with an “altered level of consciousness.”

Bride arrested for pulling gun from wedding dress, pointing at groom

Talk about a shotgun wedding.

Shortly after saying “I do,” a Tennessee bride was arrested for pulling a firearm out from beneath her wedding dress and pulling the trigger on her new hubby.

Police said Kate Elizabeth Prichard, 25, and her groom had started fighting only hours after their nuptials in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, according to news station WTVF.

The couple was drinking outside a local motel called the Clarion Inn when they began to fight, authorities said.

“She pulled out of her wedding dress a 9 mm pistol. Pointed it at her new husband’s head and pulled the trigger,” Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans told WTVF.

The gun, however, was not loaded, forcing the pistol-packing bride to load a round before reportedly firing a shot into the air.

“Responding officers let the husband know the honeymoon was over and his new wife was going to jail,” Evans said.

Authorities took Prichard, who was still in her gown, into custody and charged her with aggravated domestic assault. She was released from Rutherford County jail on $15,000 bond.

Man arrested after stranding daughter in desert without shoes

An Arizona dad landed behind bars for allegedly stranding his 10-year-old daughter in the desert without shoes or water.

Christopher Charles Watson, 28, of Kingman, was charged with felony domestic child abuse after the girl was found alone sobbing Saturday morning in 91-degree heat, according to news station KSNV.

Authorities said that Watson and his daughter got into a fight so he decided to take her for a car ride to calm her down.

He admitted to officers that he forced her out of the truck and left her shoeless in the desert.

Police said that a passerby contacted 911 after she saw her crying and walking barefoot on asphalt and took the girl home.

According to Watson, he drove home and waited 15 minutes before returning, but could not find his daughter.

The 10-year-old told police that her dad bit her and she hit her head when he sped away from the desert, news station KPNX reported. She also reported having a headache and pain in her neck.

She was brought to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and later released into Department of Child Safety custody.

Authorities said that Watson was sleeping and reeked of alcohol when he was arrested. He was brought to Mohave County Jail for booking.

He was no longer listed in custody on Monday, according to court records.

Naked man arrested after smacking cop at train station

A bugged-out, naked man was arrested after he was caught on camera spraying a cop with pesticide and slapping him.

A 2-minute clip of the wild encounter at Houston’s Fannin South Transit Center shows a man later identified as Keith L. Dean, 49, spraying stolen pesticide into the face of an officer — just before the naked man springs from the train and smacks the cop in the face. The officer somehow managed to keep his balance during the ordeal and Tase the man.

Dean falls to the ground, but staggers toward the officer and his partner.

“Stay down,” one cop yells as Dean tries to get back on his feet.

The officers then handcuff Dean in front of shocked commuters.

“What’s going on, buddy?” one officer asked, according to KTRK. “Can you walk, can you get up?”

The incident — which ended with no reported injuries — happened on June 6 and the video was uploaded to YouTube two days later, but didn’t start attracting attention online until recently, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Dean’s attorney, Markay Sound, said the video speaks for itself.

“By watching the video, it is clear that there is much more going on than a man intentionally committing a crime,” Stroud told the Chronicle. “From the actions and demeanor of Mr. Dean to the professionalism shown by the officers who arrested him, it is obvious Mr. Dean is not acting rationally. I hope that once all the evidence is reviewed by the State, they will realize that Mr. Dean was not acting with malicious intent toward anyone.”

Dean remains jailed on $10,000 bail in the Harris County Jail on two counts of assault on a public servant.

Meanwhile, the Houston Police Department praised the officers for exercising restraint during the encounter.

“We commend these two officers for their actions in bringing a volatile situation to a safe conclusion,” the department said in a statement to KTRK. “The male clearly struck our officer, who in turn used sound [judgment] in holding his composure and gaining control of the scene … thanks to assistance from his partner.”

Some users on YouTube echoed that praise, saying the officers should be commended for exercising such restraint during the incident.

“This is a good cop,” one comment read. “Gets slapped, doesn’t care, but the poor guy. We need more police like this.”
